The Grande Hotel Porto is housed in an old Victorian mansion in down town Porto. Close to some of the city's best restaurants, its also in a good location for sightseeing, and lives on the pedestrianised street of Santa Catarina.

The facilities

Minimal facilities - a lovely breakfast spread is provided each morning, but there's no on-site restaurant (not that its a problem to find good restaurants in Porto). There's also a cosy bar area (formerly the hotel's Winter Garden), which is a great spot for end-of-day drinks. For business guests, the hotel also provides a choice of meeting rooms and and some business facilities.

The rooms

Each of the hotel's 97 bedrooms is traditional in style, and standards can be on the cosy side. All have air-conditioning, satellite television, wifi access and well-stocked mini bars.
