The rooms

Each of the rooms is individually designed; some are spare and elegant, others flashy and vibrant. All boast excellent views of the historical quarter and plush beds. Some boast rustic fireplaces, some offer gorgeous terraces, and others feature splashy marble bathrooms with sunken tubs and separate showers. All of them, however, evoke the feeling of home.

Facilities

Hotel Facilities: Baby-sitting, Bar, Dry cleaning, Gardens, Meeting rooms, Outdoor pool

Come for...

  • Elegant, enormous suites with museum-quality antiques
  • The secret garden and black marble pool
  • Meeting rooms clad in original 18th-century tiles
  • Terraces, corridors and salons to get lost in

Not Suitable for...

  • The perplexed: entry is through an unmarked courtyard
  • The demanding: it's run like a private house

Children

Children are welcome at the hotel, but there are few family-friendly services. They can provide an extra bed in the suite for young children, and recommend one of the suites with two separate rooms for larger families. A babysitting service is also available for guests.

Eating in

Excellent breakfast policy: whatever you want, wherever you want, whenever you want. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day but meals are catered exclusively by Portuguese Michelin Star Chef José Avillez.

The Press Say
