Set right on the Atlantic coast, the large'n'loud Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort & Hotel Spa has everything you might need for a jam-packed break. The facilities

The mosaic-tiled spa is slick, sleek and seriously large with 16 treatment rooms. If a massage or facial doesn't tickle your fancy, hop to the Thalasso pool, hammam or sauna - gym bunnies will head straight for the cardio fitness room. Outdoors, go for a round of golf (just outside the hotel) or hit the tennis courts.

Families can all enjoy the Portuguese sunshine in style - there are three outdoor pools for adults and kids apiece, plus a saltwater pool exclusively for the grown-ups. A children's club and playground will keep the kids in good spirits the rest of the time.

Three of the pools have bars, but head to Real or Mezanino for cocktails away from the poolside. There are four restaurants to choose from but Pérgula is the flagship, serving up signature Mediterranean dishes in the evening only.

The rooms

344 luxury rooms includes 27 Suites and 2 Grande Real suites. Decor is classic, falling on the right side of old-fashioned, and suites come with internet access and air-con as standard. Grab a room with a terrace and sea view or, better yet, one with all that and a Jacuzzi too.
