Built by local islanders using sustainable materials, Azura is Mozambique's first eco-boutique hotel. Located within a National Park, Azura is in a prime spot to enjoy the natural beauty of Mozambique's marine life. There are excellent reefs for diving and snorkeling, as well as an array of nesting turtles and migrating whales, dolphins, marlin and sailfish tuna.

The facilities

The Mozambican staff provides local flavour, while also being very accommodating and friendly. Guests staying more than three nights will receive a free Land Rover island drive, a sunset cruise and a 15-minute refresher massage on arrival (subject to availability). The eco-boutique hotel also includes a vast range of onsite activities, including African spa treatments.

The rooms

Built entirely by hand through sustainable methods by the local community, each of Azura's 15 villas comes with a private infinity pool, solar powered showers, hardwood flooring and a sun deck. All the interiors integrate locally sourced wooden beams and traditional artwork beneath a thatched jekka roof. The modern décor of the eco-boutique hotel considers the landscape of unspoilt beaches, incorporating soft tones of tan and cerulean throughout.
