Dar El Kebira is small on stature but big on personality. It's housed in a gorgeous Moorish-style building that's been painstakingly restored to a clean-lined, impeccable standard. It lies in the bustling Rabat medina, close to Kasbah Oudayas, and so is perfectly placed to experience the best of art, culture and shopping that this city has to offer.

The facilities

Owing to its tiny size, facilities at Dar El Kebira are minimal. There's an in-house cook who provides all the meals (including the lovely breakfast spread, taken up on the roof terrace) and a small bar area. Private dinners can also be arranged with the owner. The guesthouse also boasts complimentary wifi.

The rooms

Each of Dar El Kebira's 6 guestrooms is a blend of contemporary mod-cons and traditional Moroccan architecture. Each comes with a flatscreen television, DVD player and wifi. Each one has something a little different; and antique bathtub here, Art Nouveau pieces there, but all benefit from a clear sense of design and lovely city views.
