Boutique hotel La Sultana Oualidia is set in masses of manicured gardens, overlooking a pristine lagoon in Oualidia, Morocco. La sultana Oualidia certainly isn't in the thick of things, located as it is in the small fishing village, but it is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day in the hammam.

The facilities

The boutique hotel features a veritable complex of spa facilities, from a choice of traditional hammams, outdoor massage areas, a beauty centre and a Jacuzzi.The restaurant is just as decadent as the rest of the boutique hotel, with a fusion of Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine freshly prepared every day. Much of the produce used in the kitchens comes from the gardens and local market.

The rooms

Buttressed against the cliff-face, the main building is a massive 21st-century fortress, made up of of irregularly sized stones. With its height, it provides every room with a view of the surrounding countryside, the lagoon below, the ocean on the horizon. Each room and Suite features its own private terrace  with wooden floor, a sea water Jacuzzi and deck chair, offering a Zen atmosphere and natural elegance. Immaculately restored, the hotel boasts eleven guest rooms and suites, and all sophistically decorated with more than a hint of the Orient. All have been finished to a high standard, with Tadelakt and marble bathrooms, king sized beds, fireplaces, arching ceilings and modern technology-forward ammenities.
