Villas Fawakay is a boutique hotel made up of a collection of private villas in the Marrakechi countryside. With gardens full of wandering peacocks and fragrant olive and orange trees, Villas Fawakay provide a fabulous retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
If you want to get active, the friendly staff can arrange day excursions to Marrakech, or to the beach-side town of Essaouria, as well as water sports at nearby Barrage Lake and horse riding.
The facilities
The boutique hotel's gleaming pool area includes a chic bar, a tennis court and even a beauty salon, with massages and face and body treatments on offer.
Food is served wherever and whenever – staff will provide breakfasts, lunch, afternoon teas, candle lit dinners and three course dinner parties to guests’ requirements. Moroccan cooking lessons are also available, using organic herbs picked from the boutique hotel’s own gardens.
The villas
The boutique hotel has three villas with room for sixteen guests between them.
Each individually-decorated villa has its own plunge pool, sun-drenched private terrace and even a chic Moroccan Berber tent at the end of its private garden.
Villas Fawakay make perfect holiday accommodation for families, as they can be rented in their entirety as well as by the room. All luxury villas have antique English furniture, large woodburning fireplaces, dining rooms, living areas and flat screen TVs with DVD players. The villas are, however, each unique in their own way:
Villa Laklak sleeps four in king size double beds (though twins can be provided too). Decorated in red and black, the villa has a six-person dining room and beautiful tadelakt showers in the bathrooms.
Villa Sannor sleeps six in two large double rooms and a suite. Its décor is inspired by the Moroccan Berber tribespeople, with the Berber alphabet inscribed around the fireplace and hand painted Berber tent posts surrounding the deep baths.
Villa Taos sleeps six in two large doubles and a suite. Decorated in African-inspired earthy tones, the villas has chocolate brown tadelakt showers and wooden sculptures in the master suite. This villa also has the largest, most private garden area.
