"The tm nights is a petite riad in Marrakech's medina of sophisticated interiors, great food and calming ambiance."
Hotel Overview
Review of Riad tm nights, by The TI Review Team
By TI reviewer Ed Goldswain
Once you step through Riad tm Nights’s fairly anonymous-looking door, away from the noise, hustle and scents of the Medina, you instantly enter an oasis of calm. A stay here really does feel like having your own place right in the heart of Marrakech: an intimate, tranquil and friendly atmosphere pervades, with fantastic owner Sophie Bossi heading up a team of ever-helpful staff.
Olives and drinks (we had local beer Flag) are presented on arrival, and you’ll start each day with breakfast on the roof terrace: breads, croissants, muesli, yoghurt and excellent semi-hard Austrian cheese are served to stunning views of terracotta rooftops and the Atlas Mountains from the rooftop terrace. What to do for dinner? The Medina can be a tricky place to navigate, but Sophie is happy to recommend places to eat, and staff are on hand to show you the way to and from restaurants in the evening. Alternately, you can ask for a meal to be prepared from the riad’s own excellent and fully-stocked kitchen.
A swimming pool is under construction and is due to be ready in 2011.
The three traditional properties that make up Riad tm Nights offer impeccable design, from imposing carved wooden doors on ground floors to sunken petal-strewn water features in each courtyard. Rooms are decked out in traditional Moroccan finery, with a few modern touches: our large two-bedroom suite came with Jacuzzi bath and iPod dock and free local calls and laundry add to the appeal. This, tm’s single suite, wraps around two sides of the riad with a luxurious main bedroom including armchairs, an enormous gilded mirror and impressive chandelier – you’ll feel like the cat that got the cream.
Riad tm Nights is ideal for a romantic break, but works equally well as a sumptuous hideaway for groups of friends, as the whole place can be rented out exclusively. Stay at this beautifully-decorated boutique riad for the perfect spot of calm in the centre of Marrakech.
