Riad Al Bartal, Fez, Morocco
Hotel Overview
Luxury Riad Al Bartal is in the heart of the Fez medina in Morocco. This is a family home as well as a luxury bolthole, run by the personable French couple Mireille and Christian Laroche. The renovated riad makes for charming accommodation, with its sunny courtyard, mosaics, marbled interiors and cedar-wood furniture that fragrances the whole building.
The Laroches can arrange tours of Fez's markets and ancient palaces for guests, as well as call in masseuses and beauty therapists for those after some pampering.
The facilities
Riad Al Bartal's rooftop terrace provides stunning, panoramic views of the medina, and is a favourite hangout for guests.
A French-style set meal is cooked every night at the luxury riad, but guests may request a meal of their own choice if they have a craving for something. Breakfast is included in the price of the room.
Riad Al Bartal's ongoing exhibition of local Moroccan art is a perfect complement to its setting in a traditional family home.
The rooms
This luxury riad has seven air-conditioned rooms. Some have four poster beds, all have tadelakt bathrooms with monsoon showers and bathtubs.
Though rooms have access to the internet, there are no televisions, telephones or mini-bars, which allows for guests to unwind and really enjoy their surroundings.
