In the heart of the city's old town, the Riad L’Ayel d’Essaouira is a beautifully restored riad with an intimate atmosphere. It's just a five-minute walk to the harbour and beach, whilst the infamous souks are a mere stroll away.

The facilities

This is a traditional riad in every sense, so don't expect a wealth of facilities. There are some cosy communal areas dotted about, and the on-site kitchen is on hand for lunch and dinner requests (all Moroccan fare). Breakfast is served in the peaceful surrounds of the roof terrace.

Each of Riad L’Ayel d’Essaouira four guestrooms is traditional in style, in keeping with its communal areas. Two are standard guestrooms for two people, a small suite sleeps three and the largest suite is a two-roomed affair that is most suited to families.
