The Fairmont Acapulco Princess occupies three buildings, the central one shaped like an Aztec pyramid that's festooned with greenery and hanging vines. The hotel makes having a good time easy - abundant restaurants, pools, activities and spa treatments mean you'll never go bored, plus the airport is also only a 10 minute drive away.

The facilities

Acapulco Princess fronts Revolcadero Beach and is surrounded by lavish, sprawling gardens. If waves arn't your thing, there are five pools on the hotel grounds, including a saltwater lagoon.

There are plenty of dining options: Veranda restaurant serves fine Italian cuisine in a grand air-conditioned dining room, and the Beach Club serves light meals and snacks. Drinks-wise, you can get a coffee at Cafe Los Angeles, or try a tequila at Laguna Bar. There are two swim-up bars for decadent poolside cocktails, too.

For those after serious relaxation, the Willow Steam Spa offers hydrotherapy treatments under traditional thatched roofs. There's also a massage service, Jacuzzis, steam rooms and saunas.
