Hotel Narutis 5 Stars
"A sophisticated luxury hotel, of traditional design, located in the picturesque Old Town area of Vilnius."
Hotel Overview
Explore the Old Town of Lithuania's lively capital and discover winding streets, hidden courtyards and ancient church spires. In a prime position on the main artery of the Old Town, Hotel Narutis is a unique place to stay. An architectural monument dating from the Middle Ages, the hotel has many charming features, including an inner courtyard filled with flowers and flooded by natural daylight. Each of the rooms is individual; original 16th-Century beams, timber-framed floors, Gothic vaults and amazing frescoes all contribute to the character. Rooms look out over beautiful squares and quiet courtyards to Gediminas Castle and the Hill of Three Crosses beyond.
Hotel Narutis is located on Pilies street 24, the main artery of Vilnius Old Town. This building is the architectural monument of 16th century that was specially built to house a hotel and was first mentioned in 1581 in the Book of World Cities published in Cologne.
In the 16th-19th century professors, scholars and students (whose families belonged to the nobility) of the University of Vilnius, one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe, as well as famous people of science and culture lived in the Hotel. Poets Adam Miczkiewicz and Juliusz Slowacki, writer and historian Kraszewski have lived and worked in this building.
Windows of the Hotel face the square of St. John's Church of the University, which is the most beautiful square of the Old Town. Other windows have a view over a quiet courtyard of the former Botanical Gardens of the University. From the Hotel windows you can see a beautiful panorama of church and mansion towers, the Gediminas Castle and the Hill of Three Crosses.
The hotel is a member of prestigious collection of luxury, independently-owned hotels - Summit Hotels & Resorts. The Hotel is one of the most unique in Eastern Europe because it preserved its original structure from the Middle Ages, and it has its- own closed inner courtyard which was covered with a glass roof during the major reconstruction 5 years ago. Presently, as you can see it in this picture, the courtyard is a cosy and warm lobby where the Hotel guests can spend some time with their friends. Natural sunlight, the glass panoramic elevator that takes you to the 4th Floor, abundance of blooming flowers makes this courtyard look cosy at any time of the year
