Hotel Overview
The Palazzo Sant' Angelo's location is its major selling-point - and what a selling point. When it opened back in 2003, it became the first hotel in over 100 years to open on the main entrance, the Grand Canal. It is intimate and refined, decorated to old-school tastes. This is not the place to come if you're after sleek designer touches. The focus here is on the view, and on the comfortable, accommodating rooms.
The facilities
Facilities are minimal here (but then it's hardly a huge hotel). There's a lovely courtyard garden, which many of the rooms and suites look out over. No restaurant on site, but there is a cosy bar which serves up a mean martini. A private pier offers direct access to canal boats, thus allowing guests to arrive in grand style.

Each of the 26 rooms is descked out with 18th-century Venetian furnishings, Carrara marble bathrooms and, more excitingly, jacuzzi tubs.
