The Hotal Bauer is a sumptuous luxury hotel in Venice. It is housed in a beautiful Art Deco building, and sits on the edge of a canal in Rio di San Moise; not exactly a quiet retreat, especially in high summer when gondoliers flock around, but it is a truly chic city bolthole all the same. It enjoys an impeccable location, just minutes from St Mark's Square.
The facilities
De Psis, the Bauer's gourmet restaurant, is headed by top chef Giovanni Ciresa. It dishes up elegant Italian cuisine, in places with an Asian influence, and benefits enormously from the outdoor terrace - perfect for summer dining. For business guests, there's two boardrooms and a large function area (suitable for up to 140 people).

Each of the 91 bedrooms and suites are luxuriously appointed, with king-size beds, Italian marble bathrooms and all mod cons. Try to reserve one with a balcony, and views over Campo San Moisè.
