Villa Armena is a superb hotel located in Buonconvento, just 20km from Siena and right next to the world famous Montalcino, home of the fantastic Brunello wine. The Villa dates back to the 1500s. It was built by Baldassarre Peruzzi, one of the most important Italian architects of his time, and was the countryside mansion of a noble family of Siena, the Malavolti's. Today it has been transformed into a gorgeous Relais with only 10 rooms each individually decorated and named after a prominent member of the Malavolti family. Presenting an exquisite blend of old and contemporary, the interiors boast a sober yet elegant atmosphere.

The facilities

In a gentle room filled with light from the fireplace, guests have the opportunity to taste delicious seasonal menus developed following the "slow food" philosophy and using only the freshest local products. The wine cellar has numerous historic bottles and is full of offerings from small producers who make extraordinary products. The spa (opening in 2013), which has a 10 metre long glazed wall overlooking the hills, will feature a beautiful indoor swimming pool and will be limited to two guests at a time, ensuring privacy and tranquility.

Each room enjoys stunning views over the Villa grounds, a landscape made up of cypress trees, vineyards, olive groves and maritime pines and comes with precious furnishings, prints, paintings and fabrics. With a wealth of history, yet boasting all modern amenities, the Villa Armena rooms were designed and built to provide the utmost satisfaction. The spacious bathrooms come with plush robes and towels and powerful shower heads.
