La Locanda 3 Stars
"A gorgeous hideaway in the midst of the Chianti countryside, La Locanda is the place to head for a luxurious yet peaceful grown-up retreat."
Hotel Overview
Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and the best of the Chianti countryside, La Locanda is a boutique retreat of just seven bedrooms. Perfect for honeymooners and romancing couples, its rather isolated location is key to its success; life moves at a slower pace within the boundaries of this 16th-century converted farmhouse and estate.
The facilities
There isn't a formal restaurant, but owner Martina oversees all the cooking and puts a strong focus on locally-sourced, seasonal produce. La Locanda is surrounded by beautifully kept gardens, complete with a chic pool area; there's also a lovely sitting room (with wifi access), a library, a small bar and a dining room. Breakfast and dinner are served on a sunny outdoor terrace during warmer months.
The rooms
Each of La Locanda's seven guestrooms lie in the main house. Each have a private bathroom, with a bathtub and shower, a minibar and a safe. Two of the rooms have access to their own private patios.

The Press Say
"The Bevilacquas' skills as hosts soothe the most ruffled feathers, and the astonishing panorama of Chianti and the medieval village of Volpaia does the rest." Guardian 09
