The Gray 4 Stars

"An ultra-exclusive, fashion-forward boutique hotel with a smart-contemporary interior, veering towards the masculine."

The Press Say

"Clubby, slightly elitist atmosphere (only guests use the facilities) and as design-conscious as you'd expect from a hotel in the Design Hotels consortium." Telegraph 07

There is also a minimalist bar, just off the foyer, with tables that light from within, offsetting the dimming of natural daylight. Guests at The Gray can use the nearby spa facilities at the Hotel de la Ville, including the fitness centre, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and massage room.

The Gray has 21 uniquely designed rooms: guests can choose from such intriguing options as a suspended bed, a personal fitness centre, a Turkish bath, a private terrace, or a plasma screen above the Jacuzzi. Even the standard rooms are far from predictable, with curving walls, natural colours and bathrooms stocked with the boutique hotel's own line of top quality bath products.

Milan is the world's fashion mecca and the in-crowd are discovering The Gray- the new place to stay whilst fashion-worshipping. The Gray is Milan's hippest boutique hotel, just off the Galeria next to the Duomo.

Shop til you drop, enter the hotel's silver-walled lobby, perch on the red and fuchsia hanging seat, drop into Il Bar for a cocktail and lounge on a similarly accented sofa. The Gray's Le Noir is a cocoon of a restaurant, black and white accessorised in oriental red. The subdued lighting is well-suited to a hangover-friendly late breakfast, a restful lunch or a stylish dinner.

The Gray's 21 ultra-modern rooms feature the highest specifications - flat-screen plasma TV, DVD, CD, wireless internet, 2 isdn lines, voicemail, a minibar hidden behind a sliding wall, ostrich skin beds, down bedding, dark wooden floors, neutral colours with the occasional colourful splash. The bathrooms at the hotel are a delight unto themselves - hydro shower or bath, or for Gray 3 rooms a round hydro-tub (more like a mini-swimming pool), twin basins lined with banana palm leaves to welcome guests in jungle style, luxe products - and in some rooms the two merge with a Philippe Starck bath next to the bed. Gray 2 rooms come with their own private gym for super health nuts.

In this exquisite boutique hotel refurbishment of a historical residence, only guests are allowed to roam premises, and they're doted on like royalty. There's an intimate restaurant and bar, a fitness center, plasma TVs, and a wealth of modern technology

Of the hotel's 21 rooms, two feature--would we kid you?--private steam rooms. Not for the self-conscious, The Gray gives the expression "embarrassment of riches" a whole new plateau. Darling.
