Ekies All Senses Resort in Vourvourou village, Halkidiki, is paradise for those in need of some serious relaxation. Mixing feng-shui and cutting-edge design influences (furniture includes Philippe Starck and Ron Arad bits), the hotel has also won several awards for its specially-commissioned 'Aesop's Fables' artwork. A gorgeous place to find some me-time.

Ekies is all about indulgence, with the golden triumvate of a private beach, fabulous restaurant and sybaritic spa all on the same grounds. Ekies Restaurant serves traditional Greek and Mediterranean meals al fresco, while the spa offers a comprehensive range of beauty treatments and alternative therapies. Or, eschew all for long days in a hammock near the outdoor pool (or on an eco-friendly lounger, if you prefer!)
The rooms
64 guestrooms are pared-down yet luxurious, with a hotchpotch of designer furniture. Rooms are cool and relaxing, and suites have wonderful Greek marble bathrooms. LCD TVs, DVD players and Wi-Fi are also available, while Coco-mat bed linen and mattresses are 100% natural and eco-friendly.

Families treated well: one child under nine can stay for free, while a second child under nine can stay at a 50% discount. Cots and extra beds are free, and many family-friendly suites are situated on the ground floor. There's babysitting, and children are allowed in the restaurant with high-chairs provided. Ping pong tables, a child-friendly pool and a playground are also available.
