Grace Mykonos 4 Stars

"Relaxed glamour and pretty rooms, this luxury hotel lies just outside the party hotspot of Mykonos - it's perfect for winding down."

Hotel Overview

Review of Grace Mykonos, by Jeroen Bergmans

Polished, sleek and pristine, Grace Mykonos is the hotel of choice for honeymooners and monied, thirty-something urbanites on a glamorous sojourn to Mykonos. The entrance, with its over-sized white Philippe Starck flowerpots filled with lavender, cluster of contemporary rattan furniture and sultry soundtrack, hints at the hip interiors and equally hip clientele of this bijou bolthole.

Part of the attraction of Grace Mykonos is its excellent location. Mykonos Town is only minutes away and there's no need to drive miles to the beach as the boutique hotel literally overlooks the pristine sandy bay of Agios Stefanos.

Opposite the tiny check-in desk, an intimate lounge with a shady terrace is the perfect spot for guests to retreat from the scorching Greek sun. There are beautiful photography books on Mykonos to leaf through and two laptops offer free

There are beautiful photography books on Mykonos to leaf through and two laptops offer free internet access.

Beyond it, the Boutique Spa has a hammam which guests can use for free. The treatments rooms are devoted to massages, manicures and pedicures, and the hair salon ensures ladies will look their best at dinner. There is also a shower, changing room and luggage locker available for guests who have requested a late check-out so they can enjoy their last day at the boutique hotel before an evening flight home.

Grace Mykonos's restaurant serves snacks and finger-food for lunch and a fine-dining menu of Greek and modern Mediterranean dishes in the evening. If guests prefer to drive into town for dinner, they have access to free parking in the garage.

There's little reason to leave the sun-loungers beside the beautiful pool where staff regularly come round with trays of frozen fruit and iced towels. Sometimes guests will take a break from the sun in the Lounge Library to read a good book or an international newspaper or to play a board game. There's also an excellent selection of DVDs and an antique telescope to spy on the sunbathers on Agios Stefanos beach where the hotel will reserve a sunlounger and parasol on request.

All 31 rooms at fare simple and sleek and almost all have sea views. Bathrooms are clad in smooth, chocolate-brown plaster and equipped with luxurious rain showers. Guests have access to the boutique hotel's DVD library and the first round of drinks in the minibar are free. The VIP and Superior Suites are furnished with iconic Eames chairs and have their own in-room laptops.

The Press Say

“The rooms now have a delectable airiness, with lots of trendy Venetian plaster, Starck-esque fittings and spacious terraces, some with hot tubs. The popular Agios Stefanos beach is on the doorstep; thumping nightclubs are a five-minute cab ride away." Sunday Times 07
