Well positioned right on the pedestrian precinct beside Cologne Cathedral, the Dom Hotel should has a lot going for it. Flower bedecked balcony windows overlook the square, and its fine conservatory restaurant, L'Atelier, is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch on a sunny day.
The rooms
Its rather stark reception area is not as warm as the rest of the place, with its grand, marblized walls. The 125 rooms are kitted out in Beidemeier-esque dark furnishings and neutral colourways and the bathrooms of the standards can be on the cosy side. The deluxes are bigger and brighter with views over the square, and have a sofa and chair seating area.
