Soho House Berlin is a private members’ club with 40 bedrooms. Located in Berlin Mitte, the late-Bauhaus structure is a listed building with a distinct symmetrical façade and notable history. Originally opened in 1928 as a department store, the property was seized by the wartime government before being occupied by the post-war, Communist regime until 1956. It was then used to house the Communist Party archives and the Central Committee’s Historical Institution. After German reunification the building was legally returned to the descendents of its original owners, but has remained derelict until recently.

The facilities

The industrial-chic exterior opens into a glamorous and lavishly decorated clubhouse inside. The hotel is packed with sleek features: a cinema, a luxurious spa, a state-of-the-art gym and a heated rooftop pool made from volcanic stone.

The rooms

The hotel’s forty bedrooms are situated over four floors and come in five different categories. The largest rooms include free standing baths, dining tables and seating areas and the smaller attic rooms have a cozy feel with wooden beds and steel cabinets. Most of the bedrooms have a vintage record player and hip selection of custom vinyl LP’s.
