The Hidden Hotel is a petite boutique in Paris, close to the Arc de Triomphe. Its philosophy puts a focus on spirituality and natural materials, but this shouldn't be taken to mean that it's all appliqué and incense burners. Instead, think plenty of polished stone, blonde woods and soft linen - plus a sharp design ethic that makes this city crash pad anything but hippy chic.

The facilities

Not a huge range of facilities, but then you'd wouldn't expect them in such a small boutique hotel. There's a cosy bar area for evening cocktails. No restaurant, but a 24-hour room service menu is available.

The rooms

Each of the Hidden Hotel's 23 rooms are kitted out with gorgeous natural materials. Bathrooms are particularly lovely, with hand carved limestone sinks and slate tiling. The rooms aren't exactly spacious (not that you'd expect them to be in Paris) but all have king-size beds, flat screen televisions and moody lighting.
