Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg lies in the heart of Saint Germain des Près, next to the Jardins du Luxembourg. It's housed in a building that dates back to the 17th-century, and was once home to the grooms of King Louis XIV. Eclectic and original, the interior is a riot of colour with Grecian-inspired murals and rainbows gracing the walls.

The facilities

There's no restaurant, though room service runs until 2:00 am. Breakfast is served in a charming vaulted room that dates back to the 17th-century, (and contains a 12th-century pillar, a remnant of the 12th-century walls erected by Philippe Auguste). There's also a lovely internal patio, around which the lounge, reception and rooms are arranged.

The rooms

Each of Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg's 30 rooms share the same quirky style as its communal areas. All are well-appointed, with air conditioning, private safes, flatscreen televisions and lovely Keiji toiletries in the bathrooms.
