Chateau de Montreuil is definitely one of the finest luxury hotels in the Picardy region. The white-walled mansion was built in the 1930s and stands behind elegant ramparts in a beautiful garden, landscaped courtesy of Lindsay Germain, wife of Michelin-starred chef Christian. The atmosphere is elegant country house, with light, pretty rooms and an elegant lemon-yellow restaurant.

The facilities

There is a restaurant at the luxury hotel with feasts created by Christian, sumptuous fixed price or seven-course tasting menus being accompanied by an eclectic and good-value wine list. Dishes vary with seasonal ingredients but might include langoustine ravioli, warm smoked salmon salad, foie gras or pear tart. If so much indulgence has left you feeling repulsively overweight, burn off all those calories in the hotel pool. The luxury hotel has a parking lot and garage for those guests who choose to drive.

The rooms

The 16 bedrooms at the luxury hotel are warm and well-decorated, with original features such as painted birds on the walls or a bathroom lined completely with mirrors. Armchairs, sofas and bookshelves give a homely, relaxing touch. The luxury hotel skips nothing with all rooms equipped with mini bar, satellite TV and safe.
