La Tartane Saint Amour is a supremely elegant luxury retreat, close to the vibrant and glamorous St Tropez. It makes the most of the area's gorgeous sweeps of beach-front, world-class restaurants and nightlife, but tempers this with tranquil, lush gardens and a quiet pool area (and in doing so has proved a serious hit with honeymooners and romancing couples).

The facilities

Plentiful and top-notch, as befits its four-star status. The restaurant is particularly good, serving Thai food with a subtle French twist. The bar/lounge area is sassy and smart, something of a hot-spot and a place to see and be seen in. Verdant gardens make way for a lovely outdoor pool area, complete with Jacuzzi tub and there's even a selection of spa treatments on offer.

The rooms

Each of the rooms at La Tartane Saint Amour share the same luxe-contemporary style as its communal areas. All are individually decorated, and boast air-conditioning, a private safe, nightly turn-down and flat screen televisions. The Duplex Suites are particularly fabulous, split over three levels with sweeping private balconies and separate lounge areas.
