Hotel Overview
Hotel Vaakuna is an historical hotel situated at the heart of Helsinki. The hotel was purposely built for the Helsinki Olympics in 1952, but don't worry its not stuck in some 1950s time-warp; the interiors have all been renovated and redecorated with a modern flair. Located in the city's historic centre, It is close to various significant monuments and attractions (architecture enthusiasts will find plenty to gaze at in the old city).
The facilities
The facilities are fairly limited here, though due to its great location there's lots to see and do. Hotel Vaakuna does provide two saunas and a hair salon should you fancy a bit pampering. The large department store next door can also be accessed directly from the hotel.
The rooms
The hotel has 270 rooms, including some suites, all of which are large and bright with wood flooring and equipped with modern amenities (private bathroom with tub, TV, air conditioning and mini bar). If you want a little extra something, opt for a room on level nine as these come with balconies.

On the ground floor of the hotel there is an American-style eatery, whilst the 10th floor houses Loiste Restaurant, serving Finnish and International dishes.
