The Augustine is a traditional yet luxurious hotel situated in Prague's picturesque Mala Strana district. The hotel is steeped in history and comprised of several buildings including the 13th-century Augustinian St Thomas Monastery; you can even enjoy a cocktail or two in what used to be the monastery's refectory. The hotel has successfully mixed this historical architecture with striking modern conveniences and contemporary design. Should you want to explore the surroundings Prague Castle, the Wallenstein Garden and the Charles Bridge are all close by as is Prague's commercial district.

The rooms

There are 101 rooms including 16 suites all with views of Prague Castle, the monastery Chapel, city or courtyard. The rooms are an extension of the fusion between tradition and modernity, whilst the furniture and fittings are all contemporary some rooms still have their original doors and vaulted ceilings. Although the suites have four poster beds and the deluxe Tower Suite is spread out over three floors, the remaining rooms are not for want of amenities either as all are equipped with internet access, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and private marble bathroom with heated floors.

Families are welcome at The Augustine and cots are available for younger guests. A babysitting service can be arranged for an additional hourly fee.


Eating in

Housed in a glass covered courtyard the Monastery restaurant offers a European Brasserie menu which guests can enjoy outside on the Cloister Terrace during the Summer. Tom’s Bar, located in the former refectory, serves signature cocktails whilst beers and Czech style Tapas is available in the cellar, the home of the Brewery Bar.
