Mandarin Oriental Macau 5 Stars
"A relaxing escape from Macau's constant hum, with a deluxe spa and rooms with spectacular panoramic views."
Hotel Overview
Located in the heart of a vibrant gaming, entertainment and shopping hub, the luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Macau is a striking blend of modern luxury and subtle European heritage. Part of the prestigious One Central complex, the luxury hotel is the only resort set in the city centre. Guests can stroll to the myriad casinos that have made Macau known as the “Monte Carlo of the Orient.” Easy access to Macau International Airport and the ferry terminal are bonuses of its NAPE waterfront location near Macau’s Fisherman’s Wharf and the Ruins of St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The facilities
The lobby in the Mandarin Oriental Macau is a design junky’s dream, with a fusion of Portuguese and Asian style centred on an enormous carved teak staircase. The ecclesiastical window that looks down upon the lobby echoes the stunning panoramic views of Taipa Island, west Nam Van Lake, Macau Tower and the hills of the South China coastline from the board room and the spa. Those city and sea overlooks in the spa are a tranquil accent to the rejuvenating aura evoked by truly luxurious massages and treatments. Eight treatment rooms including four couples suites are the centre of a sprawling spa and health complex that includes a vitality pool, amethyst crystal steam room sauna, rainforest shower, state-of-the-art fitness centre and heated outdoor swimming pool.
The hotel also offers an epicurean experience with a range of stylish, contemporary venues, including Vida Rica Restaurant and Bar, the relaxing lobby lounge and a cake shop.
The rooms
213 elegant rooms and suites combine superb comfort with a wide range of state-of-the art technology. 42-inch plasma screen televisions, iPod docking stations and pay movies come standard. Marble bathrooms feature glass-enclosed showers and deep soaking tubs, which in some rooms boast stunning views of the city and sea. Plush pillow-top mattresses are decked out in 480-thread count satin sheets and down duvets and pillows.
