The Landmark Mandarin Oriental 5 Stars
"One of the most famous and beloved luxury hotels in the world, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is a chilled-out, contemporary bolthole in the heart of buzzing Hong Kong."
Hotel Overview
With a premier address in Hong Kong’s Central business district, the luxurious Landmark Mandarin Oriental is a striking blend of contemporary design and serene luxury. This central location means the nightlife in Lan Kwai Fong is a short walk away, but it’s difficult to imagine a more swank option for cocktails than the chic MO Bar. Adjacent to The Landmark Atrium, the hotel is surrounded by the some of the most prestigious fashion brands in the world. Access to the city is available from the nearby Central MTR station and the hotel is only a five-minute stroll from the Hong Kong Airport Express.
The facilities
Known as one of the most daringly contemporary Mandarin Oriental properties, the hotel is also one of the brand’s smallest. That doesn’t mean that it skimps on luxury. A white marble staircase leads to the plush, library-like lobby. Popular with designers and fashionistas due to its location in the Landmark complex, expect a well-heeled crowd. The 25,000 square-foot spa spans two floors and features an 18-metre indoor swimming pool, yoga and Pilates studios, Turkish hammam and 15 treatment rooms. Dining at the 2-Michelin-starred Amber offers contemporary French cuisine from renowned chef Richard Ekkebus.
The rooms
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental has just 113 rooms, but they’re some of the largest in the city. Minimalist décor and sophisticated luxury, all rooms feature at least two LCD televisions and an incredibly advanced entertainment system (fear not, techno-phobes, superbly friendly technology butlers are on hand to guide) with surround sound, iPod docks and WiFi. The bathrooms are famously deluxe, marble-clad affairs with sunken bathtubs and separate rainforest showers. 600-series rooms are decked out in fine art and feature 7-foot round spa bathtubs and luxurious bath amenities.
