Zerohotel is an intimate and refined boutique hotel in Valparaiso, Chile. Perched atop the hilly Cerro Alegre, it boasts some seriously sweeping views. Although Lautaro Rosas Street is leafy and quiet, the hotel is just a short walk from top-notch restaurants and the main tourist attractions.

The facilities

Built in 1880, the house retains an aristocratic, exclusive air. In the proper sense of a boutique hotel, facilities here are minimal. There's no restaurant (so ask staff for recommendations) but there is a small lounge area with an Honesty Bar. There's also a petite pool in the garden, and the star of the show, the chic Winter Garden, with views over Valparaiso Bay.

The rooms

Each of Zero Hotel's nine bedrooms shares the same elegant, sophisticated style as the communal areas. Contemporary furnishings and hardwood flooring are toned down with original doors and windows, meticulously restored. Luxurious touches include 44-count Egyptian cotton, alpaca bedspreads and flat screen televisions.
