Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Copacabana Palace 5 Stars
Rio's top luxury hotel, redolent of old-school glamour, with impeccable staff and lavish interiors.
Hotel Overview
Opened in 1923, this impressive stucco-fashioned building is Rio's most lavish grand dame. It was designed by the French architect Joseph Gire, who took inspiration from two other world-renowned hotels, the Negresco in Nice and the Carlton in Cannes.
The facilities
The dining at this luxury hotel is classically elegant. The Cipriani Restaurant is a great place to mingle with other jet setters in a highly sophisticated atmosphere. Chef Francesco Carli, renowned executive chef at this luxury hotel, serves authentic Italian cuisine with local Brazilian produce and imported ingredients and wines from Italy. For social charm after dinner, head to the Piano Bar with a large selection of tobaccos, cocktails and wines.
Copacabana Palace Spa has gained a reputation as one of the best spas in Rio. With an upscale, "urban sanctuary setting", the contemporary designs add comfort and relaxation for guests. Melt away stress in a treatment room, dual treatment suite and steam bath. A menu of exotic and extensive treatment options are available to cater to any need.
The rooms
All 243 rooms of this luxury hotel are designed with fine, period furniture and original works of art. Each of the rooms has view of the sea or of Copacabana Avenue. All suites have spacious and opulent sitting rooms.
