The Fairmont Hamilton Princess is one of Bermuda's finest luxury hotels, a elegant and very much old-school establishment that overlooks the harbour side in Hamilton. It's been refurbished in complete sympathy with its Victorian heritage, in subtle colours and antique furnishings. There's a complimentary ferry trips over to the private Fairmont Beach Club in Southampton, and carriage rides into town.

There are plentiful facilities to choose from here: a fresh and a saltwater pool, spa treatments and a fitness centre all on-site, plus kayaking, snorkelling and yachting. Harley's Restaurant is sleek and refined, with lovely views across the harbour (especially in the early evening). Afternoon tea is served daily in the Heritage Court (a bit of a must-do, since it's ranked as one of the best teatime spreads in the world).

Each of the Hamilton Princess's 410 bedrooms are elegantly furnished, in a traditional, comfortable style. Many have a private balcony with harbour views, others look over the manicured gardens. 19th-century mahogany furnishings and bright Bermudian art feature in all, as do high-speed internet access and flat-screen televisions.
