Conrad Brussels 5 Stars
"This is something of an institution within the city, and still ranks as the best hotel for business in Brussels."
Hotel Overview
Review of Conrad Brussels, by Danny Sriskandarajah
The Conrad Brussels is one of those hotels that seems to fit right in to its surroundings. The hotel itself was built into the façade of a nineteenth century block only in 1991. Since then, the Hilton group’s flagship establishment in Brussels has fitted into the elegance and glamour of its prime Avenue Louise location. Consistently listed amongst the best hotels in Brussels, the Conrad is fashionably convenient for a midweek business trip and conveniently fashionable for a romantic weekend away.
All the rooms have the amenities expected of a deluxe hotel with a few special touches to keep guests happy - for example, internet through the TV, the Temple Spa range of bathroom products, and a bound book with pictures of all the hotel’s staff. The hotel is currently undertaking a rolling programme of refurbishment and the refitted rooms have a fresher, more elegant décor.
Executive rooms have extra space and better bathrooms, while the junior suites have a very cool mezzanine bedroom. Larger suites are truly extravagant and are regularly booked by visiting dignitaries (the Clintons, befitting their status, stayed in Conrad’s royal suite when they visited Brussels). The Champneys health club in the basement is well worth a visit, and the cocktail bar, complete with piano player, is a great place to start or end an evening.
The Conrad is certainly not a boutique hotel and the fact that it is part of an international chain is hard to miss, but very few guests will be disappointed with its elegance, convenience and friendly feel.

"The classic facade of an 1865 mansion now shields a sleek, deluxe American interior in this hotel on the elegant avenue Louise. Rooms come in many different shapes, but all are spacious. In the stylish black-and-white marble bathrooms, baths can be filled in one minute flat. The intimate Maison de Maître restaurant is well respected." Fodor's 08Reviews
Review of The Conrad Brussels, by Angela Moore
The Conrad Brussels is an oasis in the rather depressing desert of Brussels luxury hotels. It's on the Avenue Louise, not a good location for weekenders who wish to be near the Grande-Place, but perfect for visiting businessmen. Taxis sweep up to a grand entrance, where top-hatted doormen solicitously hold umbrellas.
The lobby is a hymn to marble, high ceilings and grand chandeliers. Serried ranks of reception staff work efficiently and courteously. Fat cats and Eurocrats will have every whim attended to; more modest travellers will be delighted by the five-star treatment and superlative service.
The Conrad has every variety of high-tech meeting room, and the gym features everything from a full-length pool to a dance studio. Restaurants range from chic fine dining in Maison de Maitre to a classic lobby lounge. The hotel is built around a central courtyard, so has less of the monolithic lightlessness that attends many similar buildings. Terrace dining in the summer is very popular.
The hotel's 269 rooms are all extremely spacious and are not without elegance. Most of the rooms have now been updated and renovated, in a programme that started in 2004. Rooms come in two styles, classic high-end traditional and more contemporary, urban chic; the latter are more appealing. All have king-sized beds; suites have two queen-sized beds. Again, facilities are excellent. Bathrooms, which range from big enough to huge, are stuffed with amenities; workspaces include large desks and free access to wifi in all rooms. A full range of office services is available for hire.
