Review of The Levante Parliament, by Nadia Latif

Tucked away behind Parliament buildings and the Viennese City Hall, The Levante Parliament may not have the dead-centre location of the DoCo, but its beautiful Bauhaus building, coupled with a design-led interior, make it one of Vienna's top design hotels. It is a classy, contemporary affair, a sleek fusion of chrome and glass, peppered with sculptures by Ioan Nemtoi.

The bar area, which doubles up as the breakfast room, is a comfortable and functional space which leads out onto a lovely little courtyard. The breakfast spread is a real winner, much more than you're average 'cheese and a bread roll' continental fare. Then there's the restaurant, Nemtoi - a winning combination of great food at an affordable price. It's a good idea to book in advance, as both locals and guests flock to it for the modern European cuisine, with an Austrian flavour.

All 74 rooms are spacious and comfortable, with an autumnal palette of white, brown and umber. Everything is very modern, very sleek. The bathrooms have speakers and all the expected mod cons were present and correct, from flatscreen televisions to underfloor heating.
