Intercontinental Sydney, Sydney, Australia
Intercontinental Sydney 5 Stars
"Located on Sydney's iconic harbour, the Intercontinental is a sumptuously stylish luxury hotel within walking distance of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Royal Botanic Gardens."
Hotel Overview
With breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Intercontinental Sydney is a favourite of world leaders, heads of state and celebrities. The iconic sandstone arches of the Treasury Building, built in 1851, have been incorporated into the main hotel, a modern and luxurious affair of stylish rooms, attentive staff and three gourmet restaurants.
Located in Circular Quay, this was the site of the first Government House in Sydney. Today the Central Business District, historic Rocks areas and a clutch of boutiques and fine dining are steps away.
The facilities
The hotel's facilities match its dazzling clientele. On Level 31 you'll find a 24-hour fitness suite and an indoor heated swimming pool. There's also a Ta Beauty Salon, florist and gift shop on site, high speed internet access, and a top-notch business centre. The restaurants are top-notch; Cafe Opera serves grand buffets during the week and has a live cooking station on Fridays and Saturdays, while The Cortile caters for high tea, light lunches and high quality wines.
The rooms
The Intercontinental Sydney's 509 rooms have been recently renovated, with superb city views. Decor is simple and luxurious, with contemporary furniture and marble sinks in the bathrooms, complemented by spa bathtubs and Bulgari toiletries. They're also very spacious, with a separate dressing room, huge hanging closet and living room. All have cable/satellite TV, a CD player, free morning newspaper, a coffee and tea making facilities and in-room safe.
