How does a hotel become a Travel Intelligence hotel? Find out a bit more about what we look for in a hotel and how we source our recommendations.
No hotel is perfect. Some hotels, though, are much better than others; picking the right one can make or break your holiday. At Travel Intelligence, we look for hotels that are 'best in class.' All the hotels on our books stand out in some way - whether they are the most charming of Ibizan fincas, the most authentic of Moroccan riads, the most luxurious of Parisian designer hotels or the most romantic of rural idylls.
We look for hotels with character; places with charm and real soul and that elusive quality, genuine hospitality. Naturally, we expect the highest standards of comfort and service, the best comparative value for money and a wonderful location. We are extremely selective; only a tiny fraction of the hotels that approach us make it onto the site.
Primarily, we rely on the independent recommendations and reviews from our network of 'special agents' - travel writers and professional hotel reviewers. This community is not niche or snobby. It's made up of all manner of people who value all manner of hotels - from arbiters of style and taste-makers to mothers with young children, cyclists, gourmets, hikers, designers, photographers, environmentalists and more. Naturally, we travel a lot ourselves, to inspect and report on hotels and unearth new ones for our collection.
Finally, we rely on your feedback. We only accept feedback from clients who have booked through Travel Intelligence. We will always follow up negative feedback from both clients and reviewers and are unafraid of striking a hotel from our books if its standards have declined, or if it has been overtaken by newer, better hotels.
We sometimes get it wrong - if you think a hotel we have chosen should not be there, please tell us! Equally, if you've discovered a wonderful hotel (and can bear to share the knowledge), we'd love to hear from you: call us on +44 20 7580 2663 or email our editorial department: editorial@travelintelligence.com.
