Marrakech's Murano Urban Resort is marked by the very modern buildings and simple, stylish furniture also found at its sister hotel, the Murano Paris. This is definitely a luxury resort, though there are a few touches of traditional Moroccan style, like the grand wooden ceilings. The Murano also has a very distinctive blood-red pool, which guests tend to either love or hate.
The facilities
In the main villa you will find the reception desk and an a la carte restaurant with very good food. Villas two through five are rooms and suites and each villa has a private pool and a private central patio. Pool areas are dotted with lounge chairs and tables, so you can choose to have lunch near the pool, on your terrace or under trees in the newly sculpted garden. The overall feel of the luxury resort aims at poolside fun; the ‘Murano Remix’ plays all day and in high season there is a DJ bar in the main villa.
The rooms
Rooms at the luxury resort are decently sized but maybe feel a touch small for the price. The King sized beds are very comfortable, with large pillows. Each room has a fireplace, TV, mirror, AC/heater, internet and coffee machine. The rooms come equipped with a Murano bathrobe, slippers and umbrella. Suites are the best option – they are on the ground floor and have private terraces. They also have spacious bathrooms and separate dressing rooms. And from some suites there is direct access to the pool.
