Riad Due is a sleek, new, luxury riad in the heart of Marrakech's medina that echoes its established sister properties Riad 72 and Riad 12. Owner Giovanna, who studied fashion and design in her native Milan, has stamped her signature style on this elegant little bolthole with a mix of Moroccan and modern furnishings.
The facilities
A plunge pool takes centre stage in the small courtyard in this luxury hotel, which is framed by vaulted whitewashed walls that end in a small square of Moroccan sky. Excellent traditional Moroccan meals are served in the cosy tea salon at this luxury riad and alfresco at two small tables set around the pool and flanked by modern, lime-green, upholstered chairs. During the day, guests head upstairs to lounge on the expansive roof terrace wearing Panama hats provided by the luxury riad or to relax in the dappled shade of the upstairs salon with its intricate Moroccan mouche arabie screen.
The rooms
All five rooms at Riad Due have traditional Moroccan features, heavenly beds and enormous bathrooms. Even the smallest at the luxury riad, Chambre Kamal, is charming thanks to its stunning cedar ceiling and fireplace which is perfect for cosying up on chilly winter nights. The most spectacular room is the Junior Suite with its oversized lantern-like lights and expansive bathroom that boasts a bath and two showers.
