Madada Mogador, Essaouira, Morocco

One of Essaouira’s most recent openings, Madada Mogador, has filled the niche of super-chic design hotel that has been missing from Morroco. With an ideal location on the edge of the medina, the sweeping sea view makes the wide roof terrace a perfect place to enjoy relaxed breakfasts, lazy afternoons or a romantic drink while watching the sunset on large, square, rattan chairs. The view from the terrace provides an activity all on its own.

The rooms

At the Madada Mogador design hotel, sandy colours with flashes of soft pinks and purples, square shapes, oversized bed heads and baths provide an ultra-contemporary look to the rooms. Each of the 6 rooms has a large, firm double bed and a very high ceiling. The rooms “Madada” and “Mogador” have small private terraces overlooking the beach, though all rooms have access to the superior veranda on the roof. “Mogador”, the suite, has a mezzanine salon which can be used for a second sleeping area. As some of the rooms at this luxury design hotel combine a bathroom with a bedroom and all beds are double, this design hotel is best suited to couples.
