"Newly resurrected 19th-century grand dame, with gourmet dining and a spa - the best luxury hotel in Finland."

Hotel Kamp, located in the heart of Pohjoisesplanadi, opened its doors in November, 1887. Named after its founder, the celebrated restraunteur Carl Kamp, the luxury hotel is one of the most valued historical buildings in central Helsinki, close to all major cultural sites. It is amid neo-classical architecture, designer shops and verdant parks, and is within a few minutes walk of the harbour. After a faithful and extensive restoration, the hotel was re-opened in May, 1999.

The facilities

When guests at the luxury hotel are looking for something to eat, they can choose between Kamp Cafe Brassiere ja Bar and Japanese restaurant Yume. The Cafe Brassiere is ideal for both private, romantic meals and lively business dinners and events. The restaurant's cosy bar serves up classic cocktails as well as the latest trendy drinks. Yume specializes in modern Japanese cuisine and attention to detail, in both the artistic interior design and the delicious fare. For a night out right in your own hotel, visit the stylish Kamp Club, a number one hot spot in Helsinki.

While the luxury hotel does have lavish amenities, such as the Palace Kamp Day Spa which offers spa treatments and even has a sauna department, the hotel's true specialty is catering to grand events such as business conferences and weddings. Look into Hotel Kamp's many meeting packages which include everything from black out curtains to elegant dinners. And weddings at the hotel are truly beautiful, so be sure to ask about the luxury hotel's wedding packages.

The rooms

The 179 rooms at the luxury hotel have been refurbished to include all of the comforts and facilities of a modern hotel whilst still preserving the original 19th-century charm. All rooms feature chic marble bathrooms and comfy bathrobes and slippers, and special features such as inter-connecting rooms, rooms with disabled facilities and even hypoallergenic bedrooms are available.

The most regal of all of the luxury hotel's rooms and suites, the Mannerheim Suite truly is spectacular. Overlooking beautiful Esplanade Park, the suite has a spacious private dining room, a study, sauna, kitchenette and private balconies.
