The Hacienda Na Xamena, 20 minutes from the hurly-burly of Ibiza Town, is a low-slung, sparklingly whitewashed building.Perched majestically on a cliff top, this boutique hotel has views to die for.
The facilities
The décor at Hacienda Na Xamena is extremely stylish - ethnic artifacts, carved Indian and Indonesian furniture, pink-washed stone walls, carved buddhas and bright cushions abound in this boutique hotel. The communal areas are similarly relaxed and fresh with courtyards shaded by palm trees and a covered pool. Dinner is taken by candlelight around a kidney-shaped swimming pool. Despite being only 80 metres above the sea, this is not a beach hotel - a steep path winds down to the rocky shore for those energetic enough to climb back up. If that isn’t enough time away from the pool, there are also tennis courts at the Hacienda Na Xamena.
The rooms
The 65 rooms and suites at this boutique hotel are distributed on different levels, each with a panorama opening up from the terrace of dramatically towering granite formations and an impossibly blue sea. All but the standard bedrooms at Hacienda Na Xamena have their own private whirlpool baths on the terrace, so you can relax and contemplate the vista at the same time.
