“Luxurious and enchanting, this stone farmhouse is set atop the perfect vantage point to enjoy views over the Luberon countryside.”

The heights of Bonnieux in Provence provides an ideal location for one of the region’s best boutique hotels, Bastide de Capelongue. The hotel’s view allows you to take in the full panorama of the Luberon landscape and inside guests enjoy similarly beautiful surroundings. This renovated provincial farmhouse is impeccably designed by owner Claude Loubet, with the aim to create a calm interior in harmony with the tranquil lanscape outside. The small boutique hotel also boasts charming, individually decorated rooms and a great restaurant.

The facilities

The restaurant at Bastide de Capelongue is really something to get excited about. The chef, Edouard Loubet, has two stars in the Michelin guide and a mark of 18/20 in the Gault and Millan guide. His menu uses seasonal, local produce to create delicious and unfussy Mediterranian fare, which satisfies the most demanding palate. Edouard is in charge of both lunch and dinner at the boutique hotel, but you can make your breakfast extra-special too by taking it on your private terrace overlooking the countryside.

Bestide de Capelongue is perfect if you're after activity, as well. You may rent a bike at the boutique hotel, go golfing or even try horseback riding and polo. However, those after a quiet life are at leisure to relax by the outdoor pool and simply enjoy the sunshine of the Provence!

The rooms

La Bastide de Capelangue is a beautiful boutique hotel with 17 rooms, individually named after a famous provencial writer: Mamette, Vivette, Master Cornille, etcetera. Each suite is decorated in a traditional French style, with cream and white walls, white wooden furniture and 'boutis' (thick, padded bedspreads) on the beds. All come with a terrace, balcony or window with incredible views of either Bonnieux village, the Lubéron mountains, the swimming pool or the landscaped garden.

Press Quotes

"Owned by the Loubet family (Edouard is the chef at the nearby Moulin de Lourmarin), this luxury hotel has wonderful views of rows of lavender and Bonnieux beyond. Bastide de Capelongue is an ideal base for exploring the Vaucluse." The Telegraph 06
