Kilgraney is a charming late-Georgian boutique hotel, overlooking the Barrow valley and situated halfway between Carlow town and Kilkenny city. It takes its name from the Irish cill greine which means 'sunny hill' or 'sunny wood'.

The facilities

Kilgraney has seen many changes over the centuries; the main house was built around 1820 although the north wing is thought to be mid-18th century. Now carefully restored, the boutique hotel has great character and a simple elegance that's full of irony and amusement. The lush interiors are an eclectic mix of traditional furnishings with carefully chosen pieces of fabric, furniture and art from around the world.
