Villa La Tartana is positioned in the centre of the village, just a few steps up from the beach. Nestled amongst the boutiques of Positano, it is ideally placed for those who aren’t too keen on the village’s steep scalinatellas (stairways) - short cuts up from the beach or the road. The hotel has no lift and the rooms are on several floors, but those that do climb will be rewarded with sweeping sea views. The rooms on lower floors have partial sea views or views over the village. Rooms are decorated in a simple and tasteful style, in fresh colours with painted furniture and tiled floors, similar to that at the Caldiero family’s other hotel, Villa Rosa. All have a/c, minibar and tv. The ensuite bathrooms come with bath or shower, with hand painted tiles adorning the walls and floors. There are no public areas save the large lobby (with internet access offered) but continental breakfast is served in the rooms or on the private terraces. There is no restaurant at Villa La Tartana but this friendly family also own one of Positano’s most popular restaurants, Caffe Positano, which is highly recommended.
