Press quotes

"For a long time there was no sign outside, but on weekend nights the frantic valet parkers were a hint. This Kelly Wearstler-designed hot spot is decorated in homage to Hollywood Regency style, which is either fabulously cutting edge or execrable, depending on your point of view (a lobby corner library has an orange shag rug, for instance). Rooms are serenely subdued however, with views, balconies, flat-screen TVs, CD and DVD players. It''s not the cut-throat scene it once was, but on weekends the Viceroy is still filled with west-side trendies spilling out of the bar into tables and cabanas around the pool. Chef Warren Schwartz has made the restaurant, Whist, well worth visiting, even if it is needlessly pricey. In-room spa services come from Fred Segal Beauty." Conde Nast Traveler
