"The dreamlike castle was originally built for Henry II's mistress, and is now a revamped luxury hotel on 24 acres of parkland."

Chateau de Massillan is a small luxury hotel and restaurant situated in the beautiful countryside of Provence's Cote du Rhone wine region. The Chateau dates back to 1550 when it was owned by Diane de Poitiers, the famous lover of Henry II.

The facilities

The restaurant serves high quality French and International cuisine, and offers a considerable wine list of French wines selected by the luxury hotel's very own sommelier. It opens out to a very large courtyard where you may enjoy your food close to the contemporary fountain. Opposite the restaurant is a second lounge area where pre- and after-dinner drinks are served. To the east of the fountain is an elegant garden and 14-meter long swimming pool. The luxury hotel is set in 24 acres of parkland, with a herb garden, a 40-meter long pond, a pine wood, a meadow and a 19th-century walled vegetable garden which provides fruits and vegetables for the kitchen.
