Press Quotes

"…a 21st-century bohemian retreat, with ethnic antiques standing proud in the white, open spaces…”

“billowing white drapes and Asian-inspired beds, manage to be both minimalist and exotic…”Conde Nast 03

"… Moorish influences are everywhere The rooms are neutral, with strategically placed antiques..." The Times 05

"A bohemian designer townhouse hotel of just ten rooms, simple, laid-back and located in the charming Old Town of Tarifa."

La Sacristia, a fully refurbished 17th century Inn of the same name, has opened its doors in the historic centre of Tarifa. Famed for its gastronomy, which is recorded in documents of the period, the 300 year-old structure has been restored using original architectural elements.

The hotel has a uniquely relaxed atmosphere and consists of ten double rooms, each individually furnished to reflect the era, with the upper floor having a distinct oriental flavour.

The heart of the inn is the interior patio with its ancient well, whispers of the past and select articles from the hotels stylish boutique scattered around the communal areas. Fine freshly-cooked meals using top quality local ingredients are also available.

Designers Miguel Arregui and Bosco Herrero have created this unique inn with the twenty first century in mind. New York stylist Joe Peguero is in charge of interior image and creation of innovative events.

Tarifa boasts some of the finest unspoilt beaches in Europe. Horse rides on the beach and riding excursions through the magnificent nature parks can be arranged by la Sacristia, as well as kite and windsurf instructors and therapeutic massages.

Tarifa is just 35 minutes from Tangiers. It is also one of the most significant ornithological areas in Europe. The Roman ruins of "Baelo Claudia" in Bolonia are nearby and there are daily boat trips to the Straits of Gibraltar for whale and dolphin watching.
