Ca's Xorc by Jeroen Bergmans

Ca’s Xorc’s modern rustic interiors, first-class Mallorcan fare and stunning setting have made it the boutique hotel of choice for intimate weddings in Mallorca. Its small, discreet sign on the windy road between Sóller and Deia is easy to miss and then there’s a series of scary hairpin bends to negotiate before you arrive at the front door of this former 18th-century finca.

The facilities

Once ensconced with a glass of cava under a pergola in the small, manicured garden or sat on the sunny terrace serenaded by white doves, you’ll soon realize that the journey was well worth it. That torturous climb in the car up one of the peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana means the views from Ca’s Xorc over Sóller Valley are breathtaking, particularly when swimming in the heated infinity pool or lounging in the outdoor Jacuzzi set in a grove of lemon trees.

Children are welcome at Ca’s Xorc, and although there’s a separate shallow section of the main pool especially for little ones, this is definitely a luxury hotel for grown-ups. If sun-worshipping poolside isn’t your thing, the old finca has plenty of comfortable, quiet corners to curl up in with a juicy paperback. And at night the terrace is candle-lit for romantic dinners, the 25-metre table in the restaurant seats small groups and the Moroccan tent in the garden hosts parties and weddings for up to a hundred revelers.

The rooms

There are only 12 rooms at Ca's Xorc. True to the boutique hotel ethos, each one is individually designed. Interiors are classic with a distinctly Mallorcan feel without being too twee. Antiques, crisp white linens and bathrooms clad in traditional tiles make them cosy and romantic yet fresh and inviting. Room number 9 is the only one without a bathtub.
