Hotel de l’Arcade is a charming boutique hotel with an emphasis on customer service. The friendly staff treat each guest at the hotel as a name, not just a number, and in fact at breakfast Martine will probably know your name even before you’ve told her.
The facilities
Originally intended to be an all-day tea room, the sunny breakfast room is on a corner on the ground floor, with the local Parisian street life bustling outside. The lobby has an attractive salon area with a fireplace and is decorated in calm colours - pale grey, beige, sea green and wood - a theme that is carried throughout Hotel de l’Arcade.
The rooms
The 41 bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, though the décor is identical in each, with a somewhat corporate feel. The 4 duplex rooms (with mezzanine bed area) are particularly suitable for longer stays but are generally the first to be booked. All the rooms have a minibar, safe, television and telephone.
Each room at Hotel de l’Arcade boasts impressive original art, collected by the Swiss owner - on occasion some pieces are lent to museums. The marble bathrooms are well lit and spacious, and have large mirrors, combination baths and phones. Situated a minute’s walk from Place de la Madeleine and close to the Opera, Hotel de l’Arcade is a good choice for those seeking a central location and good service without paying through the nose.
