Chesa Grischuna by Christoph Hargreaves-Allen

Boutique hotel Chesa Grischuna is a perennial classic located in the middle of town. The interior of the hotel is decorated with pieces of gnarled wood and bright painted wooden doors creating an intimate, rich, cosy chalet interior. The hotel is always buzzing, and is popular with the English, no doubt for its elegant snugness. Little orange lampshades hang off the wall and the scent of bacon climbs the stairs; a trunk made from one single wooden log is one of the many details that make the Chesa Grischuna special. Five storeys high, this boutique hotel’s upper half is entirely wooden, with hand-painted shutters and pine windows.

The reputation of Chesa Grischuna is wide-reaching; Hollywood stars have a long history at this four-star hotel, ranging from Julie Andrews, Audrey Hepburn, Kirk Douglas, Peter Sellers and Gene Kelly.
